Old, unused paint is a problem for almost every homeowner. The paint takes up shelf space but carting it to the proper disposal site is something we seldom ‘get to.’ But improper disposal of this latex paint is a hazard to our environment! We need two volunteers to drive either their own truck or a rental truck (our Civic Association will cover the cost of rental) to the Delaware Recycling Center in New Castle, 20 minutes away. Staff at the Recycling Center will unload the paint. We would offer this service only twice a year, the last Saturday of May and the last Saturday of October. With two volunteers either of them can make the run even if the other is unavailable. The paint will be collected in the driveway of 607 Black Gates Road before 10 AM the morning of the pick-up, so you could provide an important service to others and be home for lunch..
